The Matrix

 The Matrix (1999)

·      Thomas (an accountant) or computer hacker Neo is searching for the answer of who is the matrix 

·      The authorities find neo and take him into custody because he did not listen to the advice of the man on the phone 

·      They need his help to find a man that has contacted Neo and is defined as the most dangerous man 

·      The agent bugs Neo, literally, a mechanical bug crawls into his body through his belly button

·      The bug was removed by Trinity using a special device 

·      Neo meets Morpheus

·      The matrix is all around- the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth that you were a slave born into a prison for your mind 

·      You have to see the matrix for yourself 

·      Blue pill- story ends you wake up in your bed and you see whatever you want to see, continue to live in ignorance 

·      Red pill- you stay in wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes, you see the truth 

·      Neo picks the red pill to see the truth 

·      Neo is hooked up 

·      He is transported to a place where adult humans are stored in capsules of amniotic fluid and are fed liquified dead humans  

·      Then he travels to the “real world” 

·      He has never actually used his eyes before 

·      Neo thinks that the year is 1999 but it is closer to 2199

·      The matrix is a dream world that was stopped at the end of the 20^th century the current world is black and completely destroyed “desert of the real”

·      At the beginning of the 21^st century all of mankind was united in celebration to marvel their own magnificence as they gave birth to A.I

·      A.I spawned an entire race of machines 

·      Humans scorched the sky because they believed that A.I was dependent on solar polar so in order to stop it they took away their energy source 

·      The machines found energy in the human bodies so they began to grow them

o   They liquified the dead

·      The matrix is a computer-generated dream world built to keep them under control in order to change human beings into a battery 

·      As long as the matrix exists the human race will never be free 

·      Morpheus believes Neo is the creator that was sent to destroy the matrix 

·      Zion is the last human city 

·      While Neo is fighting Morpheus in the simulation he says to him do you think that is air that you are breathing right now 

o   It is not about the strength or speed of their muscles 

·      Your mind is what makes all of the things seen in the matrix real 

·      If you die in the matrix you also die in the real world because your body cannot live without the mind 

·      The steak that he is eating is not real but the matrix tells his brain that it juicy and delicious  

·      When the child speaks to neo he tells him to realize the truth that the spoon is not real and it is not the spoon that bends but it is only yourself

·      The oracle tells Neo he is not the one but he will have to face the decision whether to save his own life or Morpheus’

·      While they traveled to the matrix the people controlling it changed the code blocking all of the windows with brick in order to stop them from escaping so that they could capture or kill them 

·      After Cypher failed to kill the others the agents said “never send a human to do a machines job” 

o   Machines are believed to be perfect without fault- better than humans  

·      Neo proves that he is the one after he was shot multiple times by the agents and was able to get back up after which he was able to freeze the bullets shot at him 

·      Then he finally sees the Matrix for what it is-a coding program, everything is a simulation
