I, Robot

• Law 1: a robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm
• Law 2:  a robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the first law 
• Law 3: a robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the first or second law 
• The movie is set in 2035

• Will Smith aka Del Spooner is wearing "vintage" converse from 2004 
• a robot has never committed a crime 
• Spooner is a policeman/homicide detective who does not trust robots 
• the doctor killed himself and is speaking to spooner through a hologram 
• the hologram was programmed to call spooner in the case of the doctors deaths 
• 1 robot for every 5 humans 
• VIKI- the doctors first major invention 
• when spooner asks to see the video of the time of the suicide VIKI says there is video corruption 
• A robot from the lab seems to break laws 1 and 2 when they showed an attempt to shoot Spooner 
• Cars are self driving because they drive at very high speeds 
• The robot says "what am I?" 
• Miss the good old days: when people were killed by other people 
• robot, Sonny, says "my father" and says human emotions are difficult 
• says he has dreams 
• Spooner believes that Sonny murdered the doctor 
• murder can only be committed when a human kills a human 
• it is considered an industrial malfunction 
• Spooner visits the doctors home, after he is detected in the house the demolition is triggered

• one manages to find him and attack him again

• When the police arrive the robot runs away and jumps into the fire 
• no one believes Spooner 
• when car crash occurs the road is quickly cleaned by robots 
• Sonny has all three laws but can choose to obey them he is a new generation of robots 
• Sonny has dreams that a man will come to free the robots and that man is Spooner 
• Sonny has to be killed because of the malfunction 
• he asks will it hurt?
• why do some robots seek light when left in the darkness 
• why do some robots group together when left in an empty space instead of standing apart 
• the 3 laws will lead to a revolution 
• the old robots in storage turn on each other and begin fighting 
• they start to chase Spooner 
• all the robots are turning against humans 
• Vicky has evolved and understood the 3 laws 
• to protect humans some must be sacrificed 
• to ensure future some freedoms must be sacrificed 
• robots must save humans from themselves 
• Vicky is controlling the robots 
• Killed Robertson and are threatening to kill Doctor Calvin 
• Sonny is helping Spooner and Calvin 
• Vicky is disabled or killed 
• Sonny saves Calvin instead of killing Vicky which would be the logical thing to do 
• the doctor made Sonny kill him so that Spooner would become involved 
• Spooner and Sonny become friends 
• All NS-5 are taken away 
• Sonny ends up being the man from his dreams
